“If my people humble themselves and pray and seek my presence, I will revive their land.” (2 Ch 7:14)

“Jesus shed his blood as a ransom and as alavacrum– a cleansing agent, that we might be purified of all sins: in order that we fall not into cowardice, despair of sinfulness, that we not become weak, let us look to him, let us drink deep draughts from His source, that we might be preserved from the risk of corruption. Then shall we experience the grace of a transformation: we will remain always poor sinners, but the Blood of Christ will deliver us from our sins and give us back our dignity. Without merit of our own, with sincere humility, we can bring to our brethren the love of our Lord and Savior. We will be His eyes that go in search of Zacchaeus and of the Magdalene; we will be His hand who helps the sick in body and spirit; we will be His heart that loves those in need of reconciliation and understanding. Thus does the Eucharist make present the Covenant that sanctifies us, purifies us and unites us in marvelous communion with God.” (Pope Francis' Corpus Christi homily, June 4, 2015)

Prayer of Adoration

Adapted from Bl. James Alberione

Jesus, today’s adoration is the meeting

of my soul and all of my being with you.

I am the creature meeting the Creator;

the disciple before the Divine Master;

the patient with the Doctor of souls;

the poor one appealing to the Rich One;

the thirsty one drinking at the Font;

the weak before the Almighty;

the tempted seeking a sure Refuge;

the blind person searching for the Light;

the friend who goes to the True Friend;

the lost sheep sought by the Divine Shepherd;

the wayward heart who finds the Way;

the unenlightened one who finds Wisdom;

the bride who finds the Spouse of the soul;

the “nothing” who finds the All;

the afflicted who finds the Consoler;

the seeker who finds life’s meaning.

St. Thomas the Apostle, Martyr (d. 74)—Feast, July 3

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, Patron of World Youth Days, Italy (1901-1925)—Feast, July 4 “The Eucharist and the Virgin Mary where two pillars in his spiritual life. He mysteriously felt a great desire to be close to the Blessed Sacrament. He followed in processions and took part with great enthusiasm in the Eucharistic Congresses. But above all, he loved to spend long hours in night adoration. And his joy was so much greater when he was able to bring his friends with him, the young people that he knew and the poor who he took care of, to adore the Blessed Sacrament. During his Eucharistic vigils, the face of Pier Giorgio was transfigured by joy and consolation to see some of these young men and women go to Communion.” (Fr. Thomas Rosica)

St. Elizabeth (Isabel), Wife, Mother, Queen of Portugal (1271-1336)—Feast, July 4

St. Elizabeth’s deep love for the Blessed Sacrament led her to study saints devoted to the Holy Eucharist, especially St. Clare. When widowed, St. Elizabeth gave away her possessions and went on pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. She gave up her crown in order to become a Claretian tertiary. St. Elizabeth lived the remainder of her life in a convent, spending time in Eucharistic Adoration.

“I do believe she is a Saint.She fairly lives in the chapel, spends every moment she can spare from her work before the Blessed Sacrament. On Sundays and Holydays she spends the whole day in Church, leaving only for meals. Though she has not yet made her First Holy Communion, her love for the Eucharist is astounding, to say the least.She is living for the day when she can receive the Eucharist.” (Fr. Claude Chauchetiere) “In view of her devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, she may also be called ‘Lily of the Holy Eucharist.” (Ruth Oswald)

Has there been, or will there ever be, a nobler or more magnanimous love than that which He has shown us in the sacrament of love?” (St. John Vianney)

The Transfiguration of the Lord—Feast, Aug. 6

“The heavens proclaim his justice and all peoples see his glory.” (Ps 97) At exposition of the Blessed Sacrament we recall the Transfiguration of Jesus. We behold Him face to face in the monstrance, which has rays like the sun. The candles recall the light of Christ’s glory and the incense the clouds that surround His presence. The stand the monstrance rests on is called “tabor.” “It is good for us to be here.” (Mt 17:4) “We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” (2 Cor 3:18)

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven (1 Cor 2:9)—Solemnity, August 15

“Mary is assumed into Heaven and Her Heart is made forever one with the Heart of Jesus. These two Hearts beat as one. Where Jesus is, there Mary is also. Blessed Mother Mary is called Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. With each Hail Mary we pray—for union with the Sacred Eucharistic Heart of Jesus!” (From our A-13 pamphlet “The Eucharistic Rosary”)

Pope St. Pius X, Pope of the Eucharist, Italy (1835-1914)—Feast, Aug. 21

“The daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is the practice which is the fountainhead of all devotional works.” (Pope St. Pius X)

The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary—Feast, August 22:

Prayer of Pope Pius XII in Honor of Our Lady's Queenship

Out of the depths of this valley of tears, through which suffering humanity painfully struggles-up from the bellows of this sea, endlessly buffeted by the waves of suffering-we raise our eyes to Thee, Most Beloved Mother Mary, to be comforted by the contemplation of Thy glory and to hail Thee as Queen and Mistress of Heaven and earth, Queen and Mistress of mankind.

With legitimate filial pride, we wish to exalt Thy Queenship and to recognize it as due to the sovereign excellence of Thy entire being, O Most Sweet True Mother of Him Who is King by right, by inheritance and by conquest.

Reign, O Mother and Mistress, by showing us the path of holiness, and by guiding and assisting us that we may never stray from it.

In the heights of Heaven, Thou exercisest Thy primacy over the choirs of angels who acclaim Thee as their sovereign, and over the legions of saints who delight in beholding Thy dazzling beauty. So, too, reign over the entire human race, above all by opening the path of faith to those who do not yet know Thy Divine Son. Reign over the Church, which acknowledges and extols Thy gentle dominion and has recourse to Thee as a safe refuge amid the calamities of our day. Reign especially over that part of the Church which is persecuted and oppressed; give it strength to bear adversity, constancy never to yield under unjust compulsion, light to avoid falling into enemy snares, firmness to resist overt attack, and at every moment unwavering faithfulness to Thy kingdom.

Reign over men's minds, that they may seek only what is true; over their wills, that they may follow solely what is good; over their hearts, that they may love nothing but what Thou Thyself dost love.

Reign over individuals and over families, as well as over societies and nations; over the assemblies of the powerful, the counsels of the wise, as over the simple aspirations of the humble.

Reign in the streets and the squares, in the cities and the villages, in the air, on land, and on the sea; and hear the pious prayer of all those who recognize that Thine is a reign of mercy, in which every petition is heard, every sorrow comforted, every misfortune relieved, every infirmity healed, and in which, at a gesture from Thy gentle hands, from death itself there arises smiling life.

Obtain for us that all who now in every corner of the world, acclaim and hail Thee Queen and Mistress, may one day in Heaven enjoy the fullness of Thy kingdom in the vision of Thy Divine Son, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest forever and ever. Amen.

St. Monica, Wife, Mother, North Africa, (332-387), Feast, Aug. 27 Exemplary Mother of the great Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son not with wild threats but with prayerful cries to heaven. Intercede for all mothers in our day so that they may learn to draw their children to God. Teach them how to remain close to their children, even the prodigal sons and daughters who have sadly gone astray. (Prayer)

St. Augustine, Bishop, Doctor of the Church, North Africa, (354-430), Feast, Aug. 28 St. Augustine writes of the Holy Eucharist: “Look upon the beauty of your Lover.”

“Only through the Eucharist is it possible to live the heroic virtues of Christianity: charity, to the point of forgiving one's enemies; love for those who make us suffer; chastity in every age and situation of life; patience in suffering and when one is shocked by the silence of God in the tragedies of history or of one's own personal existence. You must always be Eucharistic souls in order to be authentic Christians.” (St.John Paul II)

Our Lady of Sorrows — September 15: “Behold your Mother!” (Jn 19:27)

“When we proclaim Jesus King, by giving Him the glory due His name through perpetual adoration, then He takes possession of His Kingdom and establishes His reign of love in our hearts.The prophecy is accomplished: God ‘will wipe away every tear from their eyes’ (Rev 21:4). Mary’s tears will have ceased to flow.” (Fr. Florian Racine)

St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, Priest, Stigmatist, Mystic, Italy (1887-1968)—Feast, Sept. 23

“We must always have courage, and if some spiritual languor comes upon us, let us run to the feet of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and let us place ourselves in the midst of the heavenly perfumes, and we will undoubtedly regain our strength.” (St. Padre Pio)

Feast of Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, Saints—Sept. 29: Holy Archangels pray for us!

Pray this prayer daily for your family and loved ones who are away from the Church, for their repentance, conversion and salvation:.

O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor

was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity. “These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be. “Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers. R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered the root of David. V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord. R. As we have hoped in Thee. V. O Lord, hear my prayer. R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray. O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls. Amen.” (Roman Raccolta, July 23, 1898, supplement approved July 31, 1902)
