LORD, EVERY NATION ON EARTH WILL ADORE YOU! The solemnity of Epiphany emphasizes the universality of the Church
and her missionary vocation. The Church exults today because the true
light that enlightens every man has been manifested to all peoples (John
1:9). Like Mary, she rejoices to see people of all races, nations
and cultures enter the humble cave of Bethlehem to adore the Son of God.
At the same time, increasingly she feels the urgency to be light, to spread
the salvific message to all peoples. The missionary mandate is
for all believers, called to proclaim and witness to the mystery
of salvation that was fulfilled in the incarnation. (Pope John Paul II,
January 6, 2002)
The three Wise Men followed the star of faith to Bethlehem and made a long journey to adore the Christ Child. When they saw Him, they bowed down before Him. This Babe, wrapped in swaddling clothes, is the hidden Incarnate Word of God the King. Only the humble and wise could see the humble Jesus lying in a manger. In the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus comes to us even more humbly than He did in the cave. Your Holy Hours of Adoration will give God even greater glory than the glory given Him by the Wise Men. God will honor you and bless you even more than the three Wise Men for all eternity for honoring His Son in the Blessed Sacrament! WISE MEN STILL ADORE HIM Eternal Son of the living God, Whom I here acknowledge really present! I adore Thee with all the powers of my soul. Prostrate with the Angels in the most profound reverence, I love Thee, O my Saviour, Whom I now behold on the throne of Thy love! O dread Majesty, O infinite Mercy! Save me, forgive me! Grant that I may never more be separated from Thee. St. Gregory Nazianzen, wrote When I was about to die, the immaculate table [the Eucharist] saved me. This was also true of his sister, Gorgonia. St. Gregory explains that, when suffering from a serious illness, she went before the Real Presence of Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar during the middle of the night and prayed that the Physician of all mankind would heal her. Gorgonia told our Lord that she would not leave until she was well. After spending much time at the feet of Jesus she was completely healed! Sts. Basil and Gregory share a feast on January 2 and remind us of the centrality of the Blessed Sacrament in our lives! O Holy angels, make me see God on the altar as you see Him in heaven.
It is this Real Presence, and the witnessing to it that inflames every page of the Gospel. At the birth of Christ, nothing could blind the inner eyes of the evangelists from seeing invisible realities, and penetrating the Real Presence. Matthew was seized by this Real Presence turned into celebration when he saw kings coming from the farthest corners of the earth to adore their King. (Archbishop Joseph Raya) THE TWIN PILLARS OF VICTORY Trust all things to Jesus in the Blessed sacrament and to Mary Help of Christians and you will see what miracles are. Never omit the daily visit to the most Blessed Sacrament. I beg you to recommend to everyone, first adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and then reverence for the most holy Mary.
