“I am the living bread which came down from heaven  . . .  he who eats

my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life” (Jn 6:51, 54).

Spiritual Communion: “My Jesus, I believe that Thou art in the Blessed
Sacrament.  I love Thee above everything, and I long for Thee in my soul.  Since I
cannot now receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace Thee as though Thou were already come, and I unite myself entirely
to Thee.  Never permit me to be separated from Thee” (St. Alphonsus Liguori).

Prayer After Communion: “Soul of Christ, sanctify me.  Body of Christ, save
me.  Blood of Christ, inebriate me.  Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.  O good Jesus, hear me.  Within Thy wounds,
hide me.  Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.  From the malignant enemy,
defend me.  In the hour of my death, call me.  And bid me come to Thee.  That
with Thy saints I may praise Thee. Forever and ever.  Amen” (St. Ignatius of
Loyola).

“Everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in Him, shall have eternal
life”
(Jn 6:40).

“Eternal Son of the living God, Whom I here acknowledge really present!  I
adore Thee with all the powers of my soul.  Prostrate with the Angels in the
most profound reverence, I love Thee,
O my Saviour, Whom I now behold on the throne of Thy love!”
(St. Basil the Great).
